Web listening privacy
Fanforth is operated by Mitmon Labs in Ontario, Canada. This page covers web listening; it supplements the support and privacy-request procedures in the Fanforth privacy policy.
Web listening is optional. It starts only after you press Start listening and allow microphone access in your browser.
What happens to microphone audio
While listening, the browser captures short audio samples of about 10 seconds. Samples can include nearby voices and other sounds, so start listening only where you are comfortable sending nearby audio. Fanforth sends each sample through its website server to AudD for song recognition. The microphone remains active between samples. Press Stop listening to end capture; a session also ends after 10 minutes or when you leave the page.
Fanforth does not save microphone recordings to a database, file store or browser storage, or include them in application logs. Audio is temporarily processed in memory. AudD receives the sample and handles it under its privacy policy; Fanforth cannot promise that third-party processing has no retention. Hosting infrastructure may process request and network information to operate the service.
Song results and lyrics
The recognized title, artist, album and recording duration are sent to Fanforth’s lyrics service at lyrics.mitmon.com. Fanforth’s own read-only M6 database is the primary lyrics source. Public LRCLIB is used only as a server-side fallback when the database has no usable result. The database contains an LRCLIB catalog snapshot; existing content credits are retained separately. Microphone audio and recognition IDs are not sent to the lyrics service. The website does not call lrclib.net directly for lyrics. The M6 service does not persist public fallback lyrics or log song queries. Song results and lyrics are held in the current page’s memory and are not saved as a listening history. Reloading or leaving the page clears them. Fanforth does not use web listening for advertising or tracking.
Limits and your controls
Fanforth stores one aggregate request counter to enforce its recognition trial limit. This counter contains no audio, song titles, IP addresses or personal identifiers. You can stop listening at any time or revoke microphone permission in your browser’s site settings. Browsers may suspend listening in hidden tabs or when the screen locks.
Children and explicit lyrics
Web listening is not directed at children under 13. Lyrics are not filtered and may contain explicit language or mature themes. Fanforth does not provide age verification or parental consent controls. To report a child’s personal information, contact support@mitmon.com; the privacy policy explains our response procedure.
